MAN DEPOSITS CASH & CHECK IN SAVINGS ACCOUNT, RECEIVES INTEREST, BORROWS MONEY FOR HIS BUSINESS, SIGNS NOTE FOR IT, OPENS CHECKING ACCOUNT, ENTERS TRANSACTIONS IN CHECKBOOK, & GETS CHANGE FOR HIS STORE. SHOWS BANK VAULT, WORK OF FEDERAL RESERVE BANK.
Ken Smith sez: Frank Adams wants to open a hardware store, so he goes to see friendly Mr. Smith at the Elmville National Bank. Mr. Smith is more than willing to lend him the $1000 he needs to start his business, and everybody benefits. This dull film (which EBF revised in 1951) is filled with primitive banking techniques and an honest, straightforward attitude toward money that has long been forgotten.

Subject: "Good Place For A Hardware Store!"
Frank Adams goes to the bank a lot to deposit money (he doesn't seem to take any out). We see what happens to his deposit (remember bank books?) and how the money is deposited in the bank. Then we see Frank Adams' real reason for saving his pennies. He wants to open a hardware store! After a riotous interview with the bank manager who knows a thing or two about location location location, he gets his hardware store, writes checks, and runs out of change. Wee.
